Their way of ruler ship was to merge with the people of the land they conquered but in some cases like Crete and Sparta they gave no power to the people and kept all power to themselves leading with a Military class. They basically used the idea of merging with people of their land, just like in Corinth, Rhodes, and Argos. 1. How would you describe the Dorians?

In the article, there is one section were in the beginning sentence, they describe the Dorians as primitive compared to the Bronze Age Mycenean. So I would probably have to take the article’s word for it and say that the Dorians were somewhat primitive in a certain sense. They also seem as though they were able to work with other indigenous people of their land because they were able to merge with them.

2. What was the Dorian's way of rulership? Was it effective?
The Dorian’s way of rulership was to merge with the indigenous people of their land. This way of rulership kept all of the power to themselves and they created a ruling military class that was solely occupied. This way of rulership seems like a pretty effective way because if you keep all of the power to yourself, you will not have too much of a problem with people whom you share power with trying to overrule you.

3. What evidence can be found of Dorian influence in Classical Greece?
The evidence that can be found of Dorian influence in Classical Greece was that the Doric language dominated the Greek language from the 5th century BC onward. Also, their artistic elements were used by the Greeks. They used the Dorian architectural design of using the element of large order and structure.

1. How would you describe the Dorians?

The Dorians were a nomadic people that settled in various parts of the Aegean. Their origins are obscure, though there is a legend that states that they were descended from the sons of Hercules.

2. What was the Dorian's way of rulership? Was it effective?

The Dorians made use of two different types of rulership in different places. In most instances, they integrated the culture that they conquered into their own. In places such as Crete and Sparta, though, they created a society where they themselves were at the top, and everyone else was below them. These systems of rulership must have been effective, since these cultures lasted for a long time.

3. What evidence can be found of Dorian influence in Classical Greece?

The Dorians influenced Classical Greek society in many ways. Their art, architecture, choral lyrics, and other things they introduced to the Greeks became part of Classical Greece.

1. How would you describe the Dorians? They were very controlling, and invasive. They used their knowledge of iron swords to their advantage, and they dispersed among the Greek peninsula, securing each area.

2. What was the Dorian's way of rulership? Was it effective? They fused with the surrounding people of the land, however sometimes they kept the power to themselves as in the case of Sparta. They halted the old Greek ways just to insure they had complete control. Sparta remained in their domain even into the Classical Greek era.

1.How would you describe the Dorians?

The Dorians were obviously cunning and brave because although they weren’t as advanced as the Myceneans they managed to invade them. That requires some degree of strength and intelligence.

2. What was the Dorian's way of rulership? Was it effective?

They merged with the locals or sometimes they kept the power solely to themselves. I think it was, more the latter than the first. Sparta was ruled by keeping the power to themselves and creating a military class. Sparta did after all last longer. It’s easier to maintain control like that, because they’re suppressing the people. Although in the long run, the first would be more effective. Cooperation between the two would more likely appease the people into submission.

3. What evidence can be found of Dorian influence in Classical Greece?

It has been in the art of Classical Greece, in architect and structure. Also in other Greek artistic elements. Not to mention the fact that the Dorians included the choral lyrics in Greek Tragedy.
